Welcome to the Healthy Communicator Blog

Talking about health can get complicated, but I’m here to help make it a little easier.

Hi, my name is Erin, and I’m the Healthy Communicator. This site is dedicated to teaching you tips and strategies to improve how you communicate about health to others, including your doctor, family, friends, and even strangers.

You will also learn how to have healthier relationships through improved communication.

For example:

  • Do you struggle to get your doctor to listen to your concerns and point you in the right direction?
  • Have you been trying to figure out how to tell others about your dietary restriction or food allergy?
  • Do you go into your doctor appointment and instantly forget half of what you planned to ask?
  • Are you unsure what to say to someone who has been diagnosed with a serious illness?

Each of these issues (and so much more) will be answered here.

Want an Appetizer? How about a Free Doctor Appointment Checklist.

To get you started in the right direction, I have created a handy checklist:

  • An easy form to keep track of information you will need at your doctor’s appointment
  • Write down all your symptoms and questions before you arrive
  • Be more likely to remember important instructions after you leave

Feel free to use this PDF guide for you and your family members. For unlimited use, simply subscribe here.

The Main Course? A Heaping Serving of Blog, No Sugar Added!

The “meat” of this site is my blog, where you will find a variety of topics related to health communication. I suggest you start with my article How to Get Your Doctor to Listen to You – Part 1.

And Dessert? Your Sweet Comments Will Be Enough for Me!

I love to hear your health communication thoughts, concerns, and victories. Please leave a comment on posts that you enjoy, or send me a personal message so we can get to know each other better. And if you have a specific question you would like answered, just let me know.

So, pull up a chair, kick off your shoes and get comfy. And let’s talk about health!
