Description

Having a baby adds many stressors to a relationship, and poor communication can exacerbate the problem. Additionally, even the most connected couples may feel like their relationship is being neglected in the first months (or even years!) of parenthood. This seminar was designed to help both prenatal and postpartum couples learn how to more effectively talk to each other by looking at each other’s personal communication styles.

  • Do you feel like your partner doesn’t listen to you?
  • Do you find yourself nagging, or feel like you are being nagged more than you used to?
  • Does it feel like there is more conflict since baby arrived?
  • Do your partner’s words or actions sometimes make you feel unappreciated?

This workshop will address these issues and more.

What You Will Get

  • Handout with PowerPoint slides of three part presentation on Listening, Conflict, and Communicating Love and Appreciation
  • Surveys for both parents to complete in class and take home on their individual communication styles
  • A Communication Competence Fridge Checklist
  • One-on-one and small group time with Erin to practice more effective communication skills first-hand

This is not a therapy session. This is a workshop designed to give you three of the most essential skills to increase happiness in your relationship.

To take this course at Orange Coast College, you would pay $276 for two people and would have to sit through a 16 week course.

I have condensed the most valuable information from my Interpersonal Communication course into this parent workshop for a fraction of the cost!

Price: $95

Note: Newborns 0-3 months are welcome.
